How much money will I need for Las Vegas?

January 24, 2012

You're going to spend $100 just on food for yourself for 4 days if you stick to fast food. Almost every hotel has a food court with McDonalds, Subway, Nathans, Starbucks, etc. and you rarely get away with spending under $10. "I'll have the number four combo". OK that's $6.99. Do you want a drink with that? OK then that's $9.99 plus tax so the total is $10.76."Touring the Las Vegas strip is like getting slammed with a baseball bat to the head over and over again. A burger and fries is $10, a beer at a casino bar is $6, a steak at a semi fancy place is $50. Plus tax. Plus a tip.If all you have is $200 you're going to have to buy beer off the strip at Vons or 7-11, smuggle it into your room and put it in the bathroom sink on ice. I suggest the big 24 ounce cans of Foster's Lager. The hotels want you to spend your money on room service and in their casino bar and restaurant. I'm not sure if it's a written rule in the small print when you book your room or not but they definitely frown on guests bringing in outside food and beverages. So I'd get a shopping bag and make it look like you're carrying in souvenirs instead of a dozen cans of Fosters Lager. You can save some money by checking out downtown (Fremont Street) for cheap food and drink specials, and also O'Sheas and Slots A Fun on the strip. Slots A Fun is famous for their cheap bottles of Fosters, Becks, Corona and Heineken. Everywhere else on the strip these will cost you $6 per bottle, while Slots A Fun always has them at $2 per bottle or less. Slots A Fun is right next to Circus Circus. 1 day ago 1 person rated this as good Thank you for the helpful tips, kind sir.
